HAHAHA that was fun.

ENGLISH IS TOUGH STUFF
======================

Dearest creature in creation,
Study English pronunciation.
I will teach you in my verse
Sounds like corpse, corps, horse, and worse.
I will keep you, Suzy, busy,
Make your head with heat grow dizzy.
Tear in eye, your dress will tear.
So shall I! Oh hear my prayer.

Just compare heart, beard, and heard,
Dies and diet, lord and word,
Sword and sward, retain and Britain.
(Mind the latter, how it's written.)
Now I surely will not plague you
With such words as plaque and ague.
But be careful how you speak:
Say break and steak, but bleak and streak;
Cloven, oven, how and low,
Script, receipt, show, poem, and toe.

Hear me say, devoid of trickery,
Daughter, laughter, and Terpsichore,
Typhoid, measles, topsails, aisles,
Exiles, similes, and reviles;
Scholar, vicar, and cigar,
Solar, mica, war and far;
One, anemone, Balmoral,
Kitchen, lichen, laundry, laurel;
Gertrude, German, wind and mind,
Scene, Melpomene, mankind.

Billet does not rhyme with ballet,
Bouquet, wallet, mallet, chalet.
Blood and flood are not like food,
Nor is mould like should and would.
Viscous, viscount, load and broad,
Toward, to forward, to reward.
And your pronunciation's OK
When you correctly say croquet,
Rounded, wounded, grieve and sieve,
Friend and fiend, alive and live.

Ivy, privy, famous; clamour
And enamour rhyme with hammer.
River, rival, tomb, bomb, comb,
Doll and roll and some and home.
Stranger does not rhyme with anger,
Neither does devour with clangour.
Souls but foul, haunt but aunt,
Font, front, wont, want, grand, and grant,
Shoes, goes, does. Now first say finger,
And then singer, ginger, linger,
Real, zeal, mauve, gauze, gouge and gauge,
Marriage, foliage, mirage, and age.

Query does not rhyme with very,
Nor does fury sound like bury.
Dost, lost, post and doth, cloth, loth.
Job, nob, bosom, transom, oath.
Though the differences seem little,
We say actual but victual.
Refer does not rhyme with deafer.
Foeffer does, and zephyr, heifer.
Mint, pint, senate and sedate;
Dull, bull, and George ate late.
Scenic, Arabic, Pacific,
Science, conscience, scientific.

Liberty, library, heave and heaven,
Rachel, ache, moustache, eleven.
We say hallowed, but allowed,
People, leopard, towed, but vowed.
Mark the differences, moreover,
Between mover, cover, clover;
Leeches, breeches, wise, precise,
Chalice, but police and lice;
Camel, constable, unstable,
Principle, disciple, label.

Petal, panel, and canal,
Wait, surprise, plait, promise, pal.
Worm and storm, chaise, chaos, chair,
Senator, spectator, mayor.
Tour, but our and succour, four.
Gas, alas, and Arkansas.
Sea, idea, Korea, area,
Psalm, Maria, but malaria.
Youth, south, southern, cleanse and clean.
Doctrine, turpentine, marine.

Compare alien with Italian,
Dandelion and battalion.
Sally with ally, yea, ye,
Eye, I, ay, aye, whey, and key.
Say aver, but ever, fever,
Neither, leisure, skein, deceiver.
Heron, granary, canary.
Crevice and device and aerie.

Face, but preface, not efface.
Phlegm, phlegmatic, ass, glass, bass.
Large, but target, gin, give, verging,
Ought, out, joust and scour, scourging.
Ear, but earn and wear and tear
Do not rhyme with here but ere.
Seven is right, but so is even,
Hyphen, roughen, nephew Stephen,
Monkey, donkey, Turk and jerk,
Ask, grasp, wasp, and cork and work.

Pronunciation -- think of Psyche!
Is a paling stout and spikey?
Won't it make you lose your wits,
Writing groats and saying grits?
It's a dark abyss or tunnel:
Strewn with stones, stowed, solace, gunwale,
Islington and Isle of Wight,
Housewife, verdict and indict.

Finally, which rhymes with enough --
Though, through, plough, or dough, or cough?
Hiccough has the sound of cup.
My advice is to give up!!!

C'mon guys.

Lighten up my world.

I'm falling into the darkness.

No one's really there to save me anymore.

Not that there ever WAS anyone.

Listening to Maksim's new album Electrik for the 5th time in 2 days. Requiem RROOCCKKSS!!!!Ask Mig or Cherry they should know....

Decided to continue writing my lyrics for a song I started on.

Cricket practice yesterday and today was and will always be so very physically draining. Not during. But after. And we have it again on Thursday....

Wondering about watching a movie or going out with some of you during the one week break coming up soon....

oh crap just remembered about the methodist donation collection card thing....oh damnit all.........

math, physical science exams coming up next week. And then on 10th march, my grade 8 theory exam.AAHH.ok I should not freak about it.After all, if Wilford can get a distinction in it, I probably can get a merit or something. All the more harder on me, because I started grade 8 only this year. People study for like a whole year for it, and I'm doing it all in 3 months. So abnormal of me. Like everything else.

But who wants to be normal???

in this age, normal is being shunned. let the imperfections flow and flow and flow....no difficulty there I expect.

Teenage attitude is kicking in. I am confused about certain things which is common for this period of time...I had expected to escape this very quickly...now I see it engulfs me overwhelmingly...and it doesn't want to let go.....everything feels unreal...everything feels distant, out of touch...can't snap out of it.

but when there's a will there's a way we all know very well. The will is present, but the way is being tardy.very.

______ has a bf problem, according to her dad. I can't imagine how. There is not end to the number of people who wouldn't want to help her solve it. Oh well. Not my business,is it. nothing's ever my business. I don't have a business. I don't need one. Who does really I wonder....

Only once I was made mute. It was when someone asked me,"Who are you?"

So turn around and ill pick up the slack.

Take em’ to the bridge

[Bridge]

You see these shackles

We'll let you lecture us if we misbehave
It’s just that nothing else makes us feel this way

Just randomly found this on a website. Think its quite cool.

A revolutionary way to print pictures without ink has been invented by a US company called Zink Imaging.

The company, a spin-off of Polaroid, says it will use the technology to make hand-held printers that can be integrated into mobile phones and digital cameras, with the first products available at the end of 2007. The key to creating the devices is doing away with ink, using a new type of digital printing that changes colour of paper when heat is applied.

"Unlike ink jet and thermal transfer printing, which need liquid ink cartridges and ink ribbon cassettes, with Zink all you need is the paper," says Steve Herchen, chief technology officer of the company. "All the colour-forming chemistry is imbedded within the paper."

Zink paper is made from a white plastic sheet covered with micro-thin layers containing three types of colour-forming dye crystals – yellow on top, magenta in the middle and cyan on the bottom. The paper is initially colourless, looks and feels like ordinary white photograph paper and is not light sensitive.

Amorphous glasses

During printing, the paper passes through a thermal print head, which contains a thin row of tiny heater elements – 118 spanning 1 centimetre. The applied heat causes the dye molecules to change from crystals to amorphous glasses, a process that also releases colour.

To bring out the correct colour at each pixel, the temperature and exposure to the heater element is precisely controlled. The crystals in the top yellow layer require the highest temperature and shortest time to melt and become coloured; the magenta middle layer a lower temperature and longer time; and the bottom cyan layer the lowest temperatures and longest exposure time.

Because most pixels have combinations of all three colours, full colour images are obtained by each heater element delivering a series of rapid, time and temperature controlled pulses.

Millions of colours

"One can then generate the millions of colours found in the world by various combinations of different amounts of these three dyes," Herchen told New Scientist.

A 5 cm x 7.5 cm picture takes about 30 seconds to print, in a single pass, with around two-hundred-million heat pulses applied. The print comes out completely dry and, its makers claim, it is very durable – it cannot be torn and is also water resistant, they say.

Herchen says Zink plans to launch two products by the end of the year: a small battery-operated, pocket-sized printer for camera-phones and a digital camera with a 2 inch x 3 inch (5 cm by 7.5 cm) printer built in. The company recently demonstrated a working prototype of the camera phone printer at the DEMO 2007 technology conference in California, US. The printer is expected to cost $200 while 100 sheets of paper will cost $20.

So today was our school's Chinese New Year celebrations. Yesterday, Mr Tay Yong Lai had told us to wear our racial costumes. No one realized he was joking, but no one bothered to wear, except me. Later found out he had done the same with 2.13, but later he said he was joking. SO MUCH FOR THAT. Ended up being the only student to wear something other than school unifrom.(there's Kirby...but nevermind). So for MT, the hindi teacher wasn't there, so I went to join the CLB students, with their teacher graciously permitting me to be with them, and we played a very enjoyable game of Truth or Dare. not that we found out much about each other. Justin made up this stupid version of Rock-Paper-Scissors...will not comment.

For the first time, ACS actually put up a good CNY program. I LOVED the Chinese Drums. Then there was this Cha-Cha dance done by the Dance Venia, and a pageant. well that was quite nice as well.
After school, me, vinod, amey and shreyas went to PEPS in my car. I was going to change into an ACS Corporate T Shirt and school bermudas, but didn't bother to. So when we got there only Ying Cong was there. :( haha yeah.

So we wandered about, and went to see Mr Yeo and Mrs Abdallah. Sadly, they were taching at that time, so I went to meet them later. Since, apparently no one was coming for a long time, they went home. I stayed with Ying Cong, and FINALLY people started coming. Right away, we started playing a LOONG game of street soccer Sec 2 vs Sec 1. woo! we won. Then ______ came. I don't think she saw me, so I called her number, and when I saw her answer the phone I ended the call. Then I did it twice again. LOLOLOL that was so funny. Sorry for being mean, though. Ah heck let it pass. Felt so stupid playing soccer in kurta & pyjamas( the indian costume), but nevermind.

Then me, Desmond(6B 05), Shi Cheng and Clarence wandered aimlessly around the school. Clarence had a broken arm. Felt sorry for him. Spent quite a lot of time doing that._______ went outside. After a while, felt like going home, so boring after soccer. So was going out the gate, when she nearly bumped into me. She was running after some senior guy. Suspicious. ^^ joking. So I turned around and continued wandering around aimlessly. Then later on 3rd level outside staffroom, she came and said hi, then jian wei was like" Hi. What's your name again?" HAHAHAH. really funny. She was so angry she was going to bonk him but I did it instead. xDlolz.

so around 2pm we got really BORED. so me n jian wei headed to mac to eat a late lunch. _______ and...gang were just behind us all the way. your turn to stalk me is it? : D. Mac was soo crowded, especially since its quite small. Vinod and the sec 1's were hogging it la. Idiots. then her gang were stuck outside without a seat. I LAUGH AT YOU. THERE WAS AN EMPTY BENCH JUST BEHIND YOU...diao. then she and nurul stared inside, and I was like- WHAT are you looking at? can't we eat in peace without people looking at us!?(said in a tone of sarcastic outrage. rather enjoyed it.) Then jian wei went home, so I walked with him to the junction, and they were STILL following us. then they randomly shouted EWWWW!...????then realized they just wanted to cross the street to go to someone's house. LOLZ. sorry.

Didn't want to go home just yet, so went back to mac for a while to talk with the sec 1's. They're damn funny liaoz...later took 157 to get home.

Looking back, all the time spent in PEPS today felt like a LOT A LOT A LOT. because it was quite hot, so many old friends so felt very euphoric, and it was kind of boring, because the celebrations are actually on next wednesday!!walaoeh. Shreyas has a stupid idea of going back then as well.

Shall list all the ex-PEPSians i saw today( in no particular order):

Shreyas
Vasu
Amey
Vinod
Ying Cong
Zhao Kai
Yi Ren
Kin Lok ( Jimmy)
______
Erin
Nurul
Qin Jiang
(lot of sec 1's)
Jessica
Lu Chang
Su Su
Shi Wei
Zhi Hua
Clarence
Shi Cheng
Htet Aung
Poon Choon Wai
Gokul
Li Ye
Yu Hao
Li Xu
Sheng Zhe
Frederick

That's all...I think. Yeah.

Noticed a lot of you guy's voices broke/are breaking. Good for you! haha.
All the ''Gentlemen" and "Ladies" looked "All Grown Up". Yay for puns. But some things never change do they....

St. Valentine's Day. I have really nothing to say on the subject.

Today we had to write a valentine's day message to whoever we wanted. I had someone in mind, but instead i decided to dedicate it to everyone I knew in PEPS class of 05.I say 'knew' because, I'm not sure if I know you all anymore. Especially after yesterday.

History exam felt so easy and slack, I half thought it wasn't one. Just before I went into the class for the exam, Vasu passed by, and told me coolly, while shaking my hand for good luck, that his new girlfriend was Rach. I was so thoroughly shocked, that for the second time in my life, I was left with my mouth hanging open. During the exam, I pretended to answer the questions, while just stoning in shock. Recovered after 20 mins, hurriedly did everything in another 20 mins, and just though about our future, what we'll all do after our education. Felt so unreal, I almost frowned in anger/annoyance in front of Kavita.

Later while waiting for Percussion to start, I went to the MEP room to ask the teacher something, and suddenly this bunch of year 4's came in. OK so what. but. One of them was wearing a yellow hairclip on the front of his hair, and the top part of his shirt folded back such that it looked remarkably like the MGS top. Later found out he wanted to look like that. We do get every kind, don't we...

During percussion, near the end, mr tay yong lai came in, and was quite surprised to see me and Ryan(2.15) there. Was going to ask him for a music score, but before i could he went somewhere.oh well.

Later when I got back home...started listening to Lost Prophet's Rooftops. Its quite nice, but I only listen to songs which are hopeful yet sad and bitter. .....then _______ told me vasu was joking about Rach. But they come to school together from bukit batok anyway. Something can be inferred...

Just got inspiration to start writing a song. Have started with the lyrics already.
Sounds like a typical emo song, but I'll try not to let it be one.

Realized today, that another reason our class is so well liked, is that almost each one of us is known to the class for some reason or the other. I will try to list the things here-
1.Arjun- being,uh, INVISIBLE , a prefect, and OMH.
2.Kirby- berserk-ness.
3.Faraaz- is this counted for the exam? being late, not returning things, not bringing things.
4.Timothy - erm, Voices?,chairman-ship, W o r m s, * * * *
5. Justin - Tabby, flask, N, KOL, LEGO Racers, Aww!, and comments at all the wrong times.
6. Jaira- art pro, prefect, rugger
7.Raemiguel- canoer, prefect, exercise freak, Animation master, Model Student.
8.Alex- Theoretical Physics!, quietness, Lineage
9. Koon Min- Qwee, laughs a LOT, tennis player, trying to be my nemesis.
10.Benjamin- Religious, quiet, deep, protected.
11.TingWei- Blur-ness, Canoeing, also exercise freak
12.Matthew- s'pores 2nd Brainiest Kid, class comm, IT rep, being a chng.
13.Michael - tennis, being hilariously lame at times, smart, prefect
14.Niranjan- Class Comedian,Sports Rep,JEWeL 'hater'
15.Peter- Javelin thrower, bballer, Treasurer,Welfare, kinda disorganized.
16.Reuben- Perv, Sports Rep, Daring
17.Raam- Being a goody two shoes
18.Sanjev- the HERRRRO!,person who is most often friendily( i hope) wrestled and locked out of class for a while.
19.Shiladitya(Me)- Injured Toe, ex-chairman, oversized(im not so sure), stinky, lame
20. Toj - acts kind of drunk( in the morning), kind of reuben-ish, has a girlfriend(supposedly)
21. Joel- IT rep, gaming addict, kinda disorganized, suffers from various maladies,
22.Wei Yang- Water Polo
23. Zeng Rong - Chess, mathematics, KOL
24.Junn Kit- Kira Yamato, NCC(Sea), being a good friend, albeit occasionally annoying
25. Zheng Wei- PERPETUAL blocked nose(my goodness), PI(3.141528571....),
26.Calvin - Rugger, prefect.

Tomorrow's MEP exam, and I have only studied altogether 5 whole minutes for it...I am seriously lagging in my life. Then after that is loong cricket training.

On another note, there's something I look forward to with mixed emotions. Going back to PEPS for CNY, and meeting many old friends. Wonder how many will recognize me and say I have changed a lot, like Rach, and how many will be recognizable themselves?Only time will tell. If only such mass get-togethers could occur much more often...

Disappointed, though I only have myself to blame for it. I know it is too unlikely, but I will not give up hope. Ignorance is Bliss.

Tomorrow is one of the most unhappy days in the timetable. E Sci, ePOD, LS, PE, Recess, P Sci Prac, MT, Hist...its like almost ALL the subjects crammed into one day.
Do not be surprised if I look really disturbed or preoccupied tomorrow...

After school today, I skipped Math Club. Instead went to the G.O where rach, sammy and their friends where waiting. They were here to watch FMSS play against ACSI, ACSB and Clementi Town in a mini badminton tournament. So i joined them. Hey its not often that ur friends from other schools come to your school. Vasy just slacked around, trying to look cool.

So sorry. Was busy doing the Lang Arts A work and studying for MEP and History tomorrow..so couldn't talk to you all much. Hope you understand.

Later went to the SAC to feel sorry for myself. Ended up fiddling with the piano subconsciously, so I played some songs while they all wandered about the SAC. I really wanted to recommend the prata stall to them, but for some reason I couldn't open my mouth. Not like I tried very hard to...oh well next time(if) then.

Then I gave up on the badminton tournament and headed home. Fortunately, it hadn't started raining yet, and the bus wasn't so crowded. Got the buses really quickly today. Just when I got down at the home stop, got caught in the downpour. Luckily managed to get under the building in time.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day...

I don't have one. I don't want one, but I still feel left out. If I had one, it would be ______. But of course you wouldn't want me.

Rach said I am very different from how she remembers me....she doesn't know how close to the truth she is. I have changed. A lot. very doubtful if even my old teachers will recognize me. or my character. Not a surprise, but some change for the better, some for the worse...I leave it to you to decide for yourself, and once you make that decision, please keep it to yourself.

Feel like failing History and MEP on purpose, to rebel against myself, the kid who scored 100's in lower primary... Wish time could be fast forwarded to Friday, so I can live the moment as soon as possible. according to www.deathclock.com, I am due to die on 30th April 2050. interesting date...

Some people really think they know a lot about something and love to gang up on people, when they really know nothing and are just talking nonsense to act intelligent...you know who you are.

Discovered t o j' s 'blog' last month....

man, after reading his old posts...I feel like killing myself, like Lamentations did a few days ago.

I never treasured my primary school friends much...always expected technology to keep us together.........now I know what a big mistake that was.

I always used to keep my emotions in check to the highest degree; I never wanted to look like an emo person....another glitch amongst the thousand's within me.

Currently listening to Hillsong's Mighty to Save. Feel inclined to religious songs all of a sudden.
Don't know why, but listening to it makes me feel even more sorrowful at myself. there's Jesus, the Light of the World, the Saviour, and so many people singing praises in his name. And here I am, a nobody, disliked, downtrod....and even the tune of the song feels distantly hopeful.

I WILL TRY to make my self more sincere, to all friends, old or new, even if you don't accept me.
Just give me a change. Your reasons are really faithless. Disgusting...

Meeting an old classmate tomorrow, and the PEPS people on Friday after school....hope it's the start of a new beginning...

If only I remember the lines from today's LAB common test, I would quote some, but for now the previous post, Holy Sonnet X, should suffice.

Adi added to the nonsense at 4:04 AM

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so ;
For those, whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy picture[s] be,
Much pleasure, then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou'rt slave to Fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy, or charms can make us sleep as well,
And better than thy stroke ; why swell'st thou then ?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And Death shall be no more ; Death, thou shalt die.

Feel kind of high after today's LA(B) Common Test.
Lol Faraaz and Reuben got owned badly.Faraaz even worse.
Man created the Duster. God created Man. God created Duster.???
(speaking of which, Man created Sin, God created Man, God ....need I even go on.)
Class 95 rocks.
Tomorrow going to go watch Vasu play badminton versus Fairfield Methodist, while ponning math club. xD Zeng Rong keep a copy of the notes for me thank you.
Wednesday is Common Test Day 3, and St. Valentine's Day. St. Valentine's Day...( I don't need to continue the train of thought feel free to do it yourself).
The treatment of some people in .10 need to be improved.Very Soon.

For a long time, I've been thinking about something Lamentations once said as an offhand comment.

"Most students from other classes think of 2.10(formerly 1.10) as the Utopia of our year. And there is valid proof of that."

OK. So, firstly, WHY do they think our class is so good? Well.Hmm......

I guess it's our good fortune, that we randomly were put into the same class, predestined to be in one room for 2 years. OK that sounds wrong but never mind.

observations: our class is perhaps the only class which has small groups of people from the top primary schools, and they interact very well together. Or perhaps the right people were just chosen to be in the same class. We often get the favourite teachers( with some exceptions, ahem).

We also can think together and understand most things, so often stuff we laugh at is usually a private(.10) joke.
And we always(almost) know how to laugh at ourselves. We think freely, I expect. We are also one of the favourite classes of more than a few teachers, because we handle every teacher differently.(look at Mr. Teck Seng...compared to the Grin Reaper...)

We are so different in our ways, that we are like an entire community, with all the extra add-ons. Argh, its kind of difficult to explain what I really want to say...

Was reading Migs and Lamentation's latest post last night. They really depress me. Shall explain in next post(dated: ???)

Adi added to the nonsense at 3:04 AM

OK so I am putting up a post in reply to Mig's post about Justin.

So here's my theory on Justin's behaviour.

We all bully him and make fun of him and tease him yada yada...the ultimatum being him not being considered 'cool' or on good terms with anyone and..yeah u get it. ok. So, he being quite smart(otherwise he wouldn't be in ACSI,), he realised this. And he decided to do something about it. So he observed people: how they talk, behave and stuff, chose the ones he doesnt do,and tried it out. unfortunately, him being the JUSTIN, he chose exactly the wrong things to become, like; a swearer, pervert. and he thinks that whatever we talk about in class is just blurting out random swear words or perverted stuff, and then everyone jumps to u and thinks yeah that rocks and so on.

So during lesson time he just blurts out random stuff for 'fun', and expects the same result. and he swears whenever he thinks its appropriate. he doesnt seem to understand that people swear when they are really frustrated or helpless(which, ahem, seems to be quite regularly). he just thinks its something that gets you accepted into the popular group. which, as we all know...is a rubbish idea. Its just cliques.

Apart from that, yes he is irritating at times, when you are supposed to be perfectly solemn and serious, because he is too energetic. But then, not everything in lifes easy, and some people have to bear the ..uh...burden.
but them, without it he isnt special anymore is he?so lets try to stop taking away his uniqueness. he is a not a problem. we just don't know how to take him the right way, and vice versa.
